Jo Ann Kairys, MPH, has served in numerous administrative and research capacities in health care. She was a group practice administrator for The Hitchcock Clinic-Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) in Hanover, NH, where she oversaw business operations for medical and surgical specialty clinics involving over 200 physicians throughout the state. Also at DHMC, she served as Vice President for Strategic Planning for the Hitchcock Hospital, and was a faculty member and Director of the Executive Education Program for the Center for the Evaluative Clinical Sciences at Dartmouth Medical School.
Jo Ann joined the faculty of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where she was Associate Director for the Center for Healthy Families and Cultural Diversity in the Department of Family Medicine. As a health services researcher for the department, she served as co-investigator for NIH clinical trials and numerous other funded projects involving quality improvement in outpatient group practice settings; she has published first-authored peer-reviewed research manuscripts.
Jo Ann recently became the medical science writer for the Meridian Health System-Jersey Shore University Medical Center in NJ. She has a wide range of experience in teaching CME courses on manuscript and research proposal writing.
Jo Ann enjoys working closely with health professionals on quality improvement strategies in large and small practices, cultural competence issues, manuscript preparation, and research proposal development through her company, J&S Healthcare Consulting, LLC.
