When You See Your Doctor... for Headache Image

• Be prepared to tell your doctor specifics about your headaches. Before your appointment, take note of:
    - How often they occur.
    - Whether you have any other symptoms just before they begin.
    - How long they last.
    - What time of day they occur.
    - Where the pain is located and how severe it is at the beginning of the headache, and then later.

• Your doctor will likely check your blood pressure and look inside your eyes: swelling of the nerves inside the eyes can be a sign of certain serious problems.

• You probably won’t need a diagnostic test such as a CT scan. Most people with headaches don’t need such a test in order to get treatment.
